Pull-On Diaper Care
The Smart Bottoms' Pull-On cloth diaper is a less-prep all-in-one pull-on cloth diaper made from a blend of certified organic cotton and hemp. The pocket can be stuffed with an additional insert for extra absorbency. The super stretchy waist and legs make pulling up and down a cinch, even on the squirmiest of children.
Prepping:
The Pull-On diaper should be washed prior to first use. The diaper needs 6-8 washes to achieve maximum absorption levels.
Because Smart Bottoms uses certified organic cotton, there are natural oils in the fabric. Those oils need to be rinsed out before the fabric reaches peak absorption levels for a diaper. What do we all know about oil and cloth diapers? Oil repels water! The organic cotton in our diapers does not go through any kind of processing during harvest or manufacturing.
Wash Instructions:
- We recommend turning the diaper inside out and remove any solids into the toilet.
- If you are using an extra insert, remove the insert from the pocket.
- Rinse the diaper and insert with warm water and gently wring out excess water.
- Add diaper to a load of hot water laundry. Do not use the “sanitize” setting as this could cause damage.
- Add the appropriate amount of detergent your machine requires for a heavily soiled load. You may use any detergent that you feel does a good job washing your heavily soiled laundry.
- Throw in the dryer on low/normal heat.
- Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or dryer sheets.
These diapers should be washed every other day to make sure the urine doesn’t start drying and crystalizing inside of the fabric, this makes it more difficult to get clean. We do recommend that whatever you wash them with not be brightly colored, as dyes from other laundry may transfer to the white insert.
