Care Instructions

Prep insert before first use by washing 6-8 times. Test the absorbency by pouring water on dry insert; it should absorb instantly. If it does not, wash a couple more times and try again. The number of washes required to properly prep the cloth diaper inserts depends on the type of washer and detergent, as well as the hardness of the water. Wash and dry warm. Do not use bleach or fabric softener.

I really wanted to love these but even after washing them the recommended amount to "prep" them they still leak. Im really disappointed, its no wonder they discontinued this style

Thank you for sharing your experience. Our organic cotton inserts are made from untreated organic cotton, which naturally contains oils when new. Because of this, they require several washes before reaching their full absorbency. The number of washes needed does depend on many factors such as detergent used, water hardness and water temp.

We recommend washing new inserts multiple times and testing absorbency before first use by pouring a small stream of warm water onto the insert. If the water absorbs quickly, the insert is ready for use. If the water beads up or runs off the surface, additional washes may be needed.

Once properly prepped, organic cotton is highly absorbent and is a favorite material for many families.
