Restore your cloth diapers to peak performance with RLR Laundry Treatment, a powerful yet gentle solution designed to remove deep-set mineral deposits, detergent buildup, and trapped odors. If your diapers are repelling, leaking, or holding onto smells even after washing, RLR helps reset your fabric so it can absorb properly again.

Trusted by cloth diapering families for decades, RLR works at the fiber level to break down residue caused by hard water, excess detergent, and repeated wash cycles—without damaging fabrics.

Why Use RLR for Cloth Diapers?

Over time, cloth diapers can develop buildup that affects absorbency and performance. RLR Laundry Treatment helps:

  • Remove mineral buildup from hard water
  • Eliminate detergent residue
  • Restore absorbency and softness
  • Reduce lingering odors and ammonia smells
  • Improve overall diaper performance

Safe for all cloth diaper types, including cotton, bamboo, hemp, and microfiber.

How to Strip Cloth Diapers with RLR

Stripping your diapers with RLR is simple and effective. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start Clean

Wash your diapers as usual to remove surface dirt and waste. Do not dry them.

Step 2: Prepare the RLR Bath

Fill your washing machine or bathtub with hot water.
Add 1 packet of RLR Laundry Treatment per load and dissolve completely.

Step 3: Soak

Add clean, wet diapers to the solution.
Soak for 30 minutes - 1 hour, stirring occasionally to help release buildup.

Step 4: Rinse Thoroughly

Drain the water and rinse diapers multiple times until the water runs clear and free of suds.

Step 5: Wash Again

Run one full wash cycle with no detergent to ensure all residue is removed.

Step 6: Sanitize

If odors persist use 1/2 cup of chlorine bleach in your wash cycle to sanitize diapers. Do an extra rinse.

Step 7: Dry

Dry diapers as usual. You should notice improved absorbency and freshness.

When Should You Strip Diapers?

Consider using RLR if you notice:

  • Diapers leaking despite proper fit
  • Strong odors after washing or once child urinates
  • Stiff or crunchy fabric
  • Repelling (liquid pooling instead of absorbing)
